The spring camporee was scheduled down by
Pohick Park, and took place through a steady drenching rain that started Friday
night and never stopped. The campsite was a sea of mud, and the skies were
unbroken gray. By mid-morning Saturday it was clear that the rain would never
end, and many scouts were showing signs of hypothermia-so the leaders decided to
cancel the camporee, and we packed out and came home. Truly this was
the ultimate raineree.
